Online Acting Contest & Auditions in India

Talentino Live gives aspiring actors in India a place to audition online. Record a monologue, a scene or a short character piece on your phone, submit it to an open acting contest, and have it watched by viewers and scored by assigned judges.

Traditional auditions often mean travelling to a city, queuing for hours and performing for a few seconds. Here you get to prepare, rehearse and submit your best take before the contest deadline, and the result is decided by a published scoring formula.

What is the Talentino acting contest?

An acting contest on Talentino is an online audition-style competition for a specific city or all of India and a specific age band. You submit one performance video — dramatic, comic, a regional-language scene or an original piece you wrote yourself.

Viewers can rate and vote while the contest is open. After it closes, judges review a shortlist without seeing vote counts and score each performance on a rubric. The crowd and the judges each contribute half of the final score out of 10.

Because judging is blind and rubric-based, the contest rewards truthful acting, clear choices and screen presence — not follower count.

Who can enter

Anyone who meets the contest's age band, city and gender criteria can audition. Contestants see the contests they qualify for automatically.

Adults verify a mobile number before entering. Actors under 18 can only enter junior contests after a parent or guardian gives verified consent.

Contests are run for these age groups: Under 12, 13–17, 18–24, 25–34, 35–49, 50+, and some are open to any age. The age band is shown on every contest card. Each person can submit one entry per contest.

How to enter, step by step

  1. Create a free account with Google or email and add your age band, gender and city so we can show the contests you qualify for.
  2. Verify your mobile number with a one-time code. One account per phone keeps voting fair. Under-18s also need a parent or guardian to verify and consent.
  3. Pick an open acting contest from the list above and read its rules, deadline and prize.
  4. Record your entry. Frame from mid-chest up for monologues so your eyes and expressions are clear. Look slightly off-camera to an imagined scene partner unless the piece is a direct address. Record clean audio — a quiet room matters more than a fancy camera.
  5. Upload and accept the terms — you confirm the work is your own real performance, not AI-generated, and that everyone who appears has consented.
  6. Share your entry link so friends and fans can watch, rate and vote while the contest is open.
  7. Get your result and feedback after the judges score the shortlist.

How actors are judged: crowd + judges

Every Talentino entry gets one final score out of 10. Half comes from the judges and half from the audience, so neither popularity alone nor a single judge's taste decides the winner.

Judge score (50%)

  • Technique — 30%: for a actor, this means voice, diction, timing, control of the body and of the camera frame.
  • Creativity — 25%: for a actor, this means character choices, interpretation of the text and originality.
  • Expression / stage presence — 25%: for a actor, this means emotional truth, listening and believable reactions.
  • Overall impact — 20%: for a actor, this means whether the performance stays with the viewer.

Each criterion is marked from 1 to 10. When 4 or more judges score an entry, the highest and lowest marks are dropped to keep results fair. Judges score blind — they do not see vote counts — and judges cannot score anyone they have coached in the past 12 months.

Audience score (50%)

The audience half blends three signals: verified votes (40%), viewers' 1–10 star ratings (40%) and watch-through — the share of viewers who watched most of your entry (20%). Each verified account can vote once per entry per day (India time) and up to 10 times per contest per day. Unusual voting bursts are checked and can be voided.

After a contest closes, the top 25 entries form the shortlist for judges, and the top 5 finalists can perform in a live online finale.

Prizes

Prizes are set for each contest and shown on its contest page before you enter. No acting contest is open at the moment, so check back for the next one.

Tips to win

Choose material you connect with

A short piece you truly understand beats a famous monologue you are imitating.

Know what your character wants

Clear intentions make choices readable on camera and lift your Expression score.

Underplay for the camera

Phone cameras are close; small, honest reactions read better than stage-sized gestures.

Hook viewers immediately

Start on a strong line instead of a long pause — watch-through counts toward the audience score.

Perform in your own language

Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Bengali, English or any language you act best in is welcome.

Use the feedback

Judge feedback on your scorecard tells you what to work on before the next audition.

From your city to the national stage

Talentino contests run for individual cities, districts and "Rest of state" regions, as well as all-India. Top performers from city contests can be promoted to zonal rounds across six zones, and zonal winners can move on to the national finals. It means a actor from a smaller town has the same route to the national stage as one from a metro.

Train before you compete

The Talentino Academy offers contest-prep coaching, skill tracks and one-to-one mentorship with verified coaches. After a contest, the "Improve my score" button on your scorecard suggests training based on where you lost marks.

Frequently asked questions

What should I perform for an online acting audition?

A one- to two-minute monologue or scene that shows a clear character and emotional journey. Original writing is welcome.

Can I act in Hindi or a regional language?

Yes. Perform in whichever language you act best in.

Is there an entry fee?

Any fee appears on the contest page before you submit. Check each contest's current terms.

How are acting entries judged?

Final score = 50% judges + 50% audience. Judges score Technique 30%, Creativity 25%, Expression 25%, Overall impact 20%; the audience half blends verified votes, ratings and watch-through.

Can I perform a scene with another actor?

Yes, if everyone who appears has consented. You submit the entry from your account.

Do judges see how many votes I have?

No. Judges score a shortlist blind after voting closes, so popularity does not affect their marks.

Can I copy a famous film scene exactly?

You may perform known text, but the performance must be yours. Uploading clips from films or AI-generated video is not allowed.

What comes after winning a city acting contest?

Top performers can move along the city-to-zonal-to-national path and compete against winners from other cities.

Can children audition?

Only in junior contests with verified parental consent. Junior entries are moderated and never listed in search results.
