How to Get More Votes in an Online Contest — Fairly

The fair way to get more votes is to post a strong entry early, share it personally with real supporters, and remind them that they can vote once every day until the contest closes. On Talentino Live, votes come only from verified accounts, so fake or bought votes are filtered out and can get votes voided.

How verified voting works

Every vote on Talentino Live comes from an account with a verified mobile number, and each phone can have only one account. Each account can vote once per entry per day (India time) and up to 10 times per contest per day. Votes are only accepted while the contest is open, and you cannot vote for your own entry.

Automatic checks flag an entry if more than half its votes in any one-hour window come from accounts created in the previous 24 hours. Administrators review flagged patterns and can void suspicious votes. Buying votes or creating fake accounts does not work and risks your entry.

Votes are only part of the score

Votes make up 40% of the audience half, which is itself 50% of the final score. They are also scaled on a curve, so the gap between a few hundred and a few thousand votes is smaller than you might think. Star ratings (40% of the audience half) and watch-through (20%) count too, and judges decide the other 50%. A great performance is still the most important thing.

Enter early

Daily voting rewards time. An entry submitted on day one has many more voting days than one uploaded on the final evening. New entries also get a fair start in the Talentino feed, so they are shown to viewers alongside popular ones.

Share personally

A personal message to a family group or a friend converts far better than a generic post. Explain what the contest is, share your entry link, and ask them to watch the whole performance, rate it honestly and vote. Use the share card from your entry page — it includes a QR code and the contest name.

Build a daily habit

Because supporters can vote once a day, the most effective thing you can do is remind them gently — for example, a short daily update with a behind-the-scenes photo or a thank-you. Supporters also earn streak badges for voting on consecutive days, which many enjoy.

Reach your communities

Think about the groups you belong to: your music or dance class, college, workplace, residential society, community association. Ask organisers whether you can share your entry. People are more likely to support someone they know.

Ask for watch-through and ratings

When you share, ask people to watch to the end. Watch-through and honest ratings help your audience score as much as votes, and a viewer who watches the whole performance is more likely to come back and vote again.

What not to do

Do not buy votes, use vote-exchange groups, ask people to create extra accounts or use other people's phones. These patterns are detected, the votes can be voided, and repeated abuse can lead to removal. Do not spam strangers either — it rarely works and can get you reported.
