Online Singing Competition in India

Talentino Live runs online singing competitions for vocalists across India — bathroom singers, classically trained students, indie songwriters and cover artists alike. You record a short performance on your phone, upload it to an open singing contest, and your entry is judged on the same transparent formula as every other entry on the platform.

There is no travelling to an audition venue and no waiting in a queue for a thirty-second slot. You choose your best take, submit it before the contest deadline, and let the music speak. Every singing contest page shows its city, its age band, its deadline and the prize offered, so you always know exactly what you are entering.

What is the Talentino singing competition?

A Talentino singing competition is a time-bound contest for one city (or all of India) and one age band. Singers submit a video of a single song — film songs, ghazals, bhajans, folk, pop, rap, Carnatic or Hindustani classical, and original compositions are all welcome as long as the performance is genuinely yours and recorded by you.

While the contest is open, viewers watch entries in the feed, rate them from 1 to 10 and cast verified votes. After the contest closes, the assigned judges score a shortlist on a fixed rubric. The two halves — crowd and judges — are combined into one final score out of 10.

Because the judges only see the shortlist after voting closes, and they score blind, a singer with a small following still has a real chance. A strong, in-tune, well-expressed performance can beat a popular account with a weaker take.

Who can enter

Anyone who meets the contest's age band, city and gender rules can enter. Each contest lists these clearly; signed-in contestants only see contests they qualify for, and can switch the filter off to browse.

Adults enter directly after verifying their mobile number. Singers under 18 can take part only in junior contests and only after a parent or guardian links their account and gives verified consent.

Contests are run for these age groups: Under 12, 13–17, 18–24, 25–34, 35–49, 50+, and some are open to any age. The age band is shown on every contest card. Each person can submit one entry per contest.

How to enter, step by step

  1. Create a free account with Google or email and add your age band, gender and city so we can show the contests you qualify for.
  2. Verify your mobile number with a one-time code. One account per phone keeps voting fair. Under-18s also need a parent or guardian to verify and consent.
  3. Pick an open singing contest from the list above and read its rules, deadline and prize.
  4. Record your entry. Record in a quiet room — soft furnishings (curtains, a bed, a wardrobe full of clothes) cut echo better than a bare wall. Use headphones for your backing track so the music does not bleed into the microphone, or sing unaccompanied if the contest allows it. Keep the phone at eye level and frame your face and shoulders; viewers connect with expression as much as with sound.
  5. Upload and accept the terms — you confirm the work is your own real performance, not AI-generated, and that everyone who appears has consented.
  6. Share your entry link so friends and fans can watch, rate and vote while the contest is open.
  7. Get your result and feedback after the judges score the shortlist.

How singers are judged: crowd + judges

Every Talentino entry gets one final score out of 10. Half comes from the judges and half from the audience, so neither popularity alone nor a single judge's taste decides the winner.

Judge score (50%)

  • Technique — 30%: for a singer, this means pitch accuracy, breath control, rhythm, diction and range used within your comfort zone.
  • Creativity — 25%: for a singer, this means song choice, arrangement, improvisation and whether you make a well-known song your own.
  • Expression / stage presence — 25%: for a singer, this means emotion, conveying the lyric's meaning and natural presence on camera.
  • Overall impact — 20%: for a singer, this means how memorable the performance is after the last note.

Each criterion is marked from 1 to 10. When 4 or more judges score an entry, the highest and lowest marks are dropped to keep results fair. Judges score blind — they do not see vote counts — and judges cannot score anyone they have coached in the past 12 months.

Audience score (50%)

The audience half blends three signals: verified votes (40%), viewers' 1–10 star ratings (40%) and watch-through — the share of viewers who watched most of your entry (20%). Each verified account can vote once per entry per day (India time) and up to 10 times per contest per day. Unusual voting bursts are checked and can be voided.

After a contest closes, the top 25 entries form the shortlist for judges, and the top 5 finalists can perform in a live online finale.

Prizes

Prizes are set for each contest and shown on its contest page before you enter. No singing contest is open at the moment, so check back for the next one.

Tips to win

Pick a song that suits your voice today

Judges reward control over ambition. A mid-range song sung perfectly scores higher on Technique than a difficult one that cracks at the top.

Warm up before every take

Ten minutes of humming, lip trills and scales makes your first take usable and protects your voice for the re-takes.

Start strong

Viewers in the feed decide in the first few seconds whether to keep watching. Watch-through is 20% of the audience score, so skip long instrumental intros.

Make one personal choice

A changed tempo, a regional-language verse or a small harmony shows Creativity without risking the whole song.

Share your entry link

Votes are verified — one per voter per entry per day — so steady sharing with friends and family over the whole contest helps more than a single burst.

Read your judge feedback

After results, entrants receive feedback on their scorecard. Use it to plan your next contest or a coaching package in the Academy.

From your city to the national stage

Talentino contests run for individual cities, districts and "Rest of state" regions, as well as all-India. Top performers from city contests can be promoted to zonal rounds across six zones, and zonal winners can move on to the national finals. It means a singer from a smaller town has the same route to the national stage as one from a metro.

Train before you compete

The Talentino Academy offers contest-prep coaching, skill tracks and one-to-one mentorship with verified coaches. After a contest, the "Improve my score" button on your scorecard suggests training based on where you lost marks.

Is the Talentino online singing competition free to enter?

Entry fees, if any, are shown on each contest page before you submit. Many contests are free to enter; always check the contest page for the current terms.

Can I sing a Bollywood or film song?

Yes. Film songs, covers and original songs are welcome. The vocal performance must be your own, recorded by you, and not AI-generated or lip-synced.

Do I need a professional microphone?

No. Most entries are recorded on a phone. A quiet room and headphones for the backing track matter more than expensive equipment.

How long should my singing video be?

Keep it short and complete — usually one song or a strong excerpt. Check the contest page for any length rule.

How are singing entries scored?

The final score out of 10 is 50% judges and 50% audience. Judges use a rubric of Technique 30%, Creativity 25%, Expression 25% and Overall impact 20%. The audience half combines verified votes, viewer ratings and watch-through.

Can my friends vote many times?

No. Each verified account can vote once per entry per day (India time), and up to 10 votes per contest per day. Suspicious voting patterns are checked and can be voided.

Can I enter more than one singing contest?

Yes, you can enter different contests you qualify for, but only one entry per person per contest.

What happens after I win a city contest?

Top city performers can be promoted along the city-to-zonal-to-national path, where they compete against winners from other cities.

Can children enter singing contests?

Only in junior contests, and only after a parent or guardian gives verified consent. Junior entries are moderated before they appear and are never shown in search listings.
